Summary         

 

A New Hire Specialist processes new hire, rehire and transfer paperwork and inputs data for employees in a timely, accurate manner adhering to wage and hour laws.  This position requires follow up, attention to detail with emphasis on good auditing/review processes for his/her own work as well as the work of others.  The Oasis Missions and Values are to be incorporated when processing internal and external customer service.                                          

  

  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

*       Uniformly processes new hire, rehire and transfer paperwork and inputs data for employees adhering to department standards and employment laws

*       Provides proactive service by contacting clients with issues pertaining to the new hire packets and explains the issue and provides a solution

*       Requires attention to detail and organizational skills to keep accurate and up to date records on all items returned to the client for signatures

*       Maintains competent data entry skills to enter all new hires, rehires and transfer input of  employees timely and accurately to ensure the employee receives an accurate pay check.

*       Understands Immigration Laws pertaining to I-9 forms

*       Reviews own input and audits co-workers input

*       Ensures Work Comp Codes for the employee and client are set up correctly

*       Ensures EEO Job Categories are correct for proper set up

*       Ensures Exempt and Non-Exempt qualifications are correct for set up

*       Ensures taxation for Federal, State and Local are set up properly

*       Calculates employee period wages for different payroll frequencies; weekly, biweekly, semimonthly, monthly to ensure proper set up

*       Returns all calls within the same business day

*       Works closely with each department to ensure accurate input

*       Processes new hires, rehires and transfers of employees the same day they are received 

*       Handles multiple daily deadlines to ensure employees are paid timely

*       Resets password for employees logging onto the Oasis Website

*       Submits W-2 requests to Quality Control Supervisor

*       Other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience                                                    

  

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
